Teaco is slowly adjusting to her new surroundings. She's a real night hawk so far! She loves all the little toys that Spencer leaves lying around to play with: Lincoln Logs, dinky cars and Lego! She can also be heard at night time chasing them up and down the hallway... so funny! She was playing with his toy cars the other night.
She's just starting to get used to the noise of a 4 year old... hahaha! Good luck with that!
She's gotten to trust me and comes for lots of cuddles late in the evening. It's so nice to have a kitty in the house again!
So she finally came out of hiding at a reasonable hour last night so I finally got a few shots of her.
She has some of the longest whiskers!!!
When I was finished with my camera, I placed it on the dining table and left it there last night.
When I loaded up all the new images this morning... lo and behold I found a few that looked like this...
I got a whole series of photos of Daddy's dirty lunch pail! Nice composition Spencer!!! OY! THANKS Buddy!!

Pupils & Puddy-Cats
We had a fun afternoon... at the ER! NOT!
Todd was grinding a piece of metal down in the basement this afternoon and a piece of the grinder's blade flew off as he was cutting through the metal and flew up and under his safety glasses. It struck him right in the left eye!!
Since the ER in Elkford is not open on weekends, we drove to Sparwood to get it looked at. The Dr. arrived after about 15 minutes and used the Slit Lens Viewer they have in the hospital and removed a small fragment of foreign matter and inspected the cornea. Everything is intact but his eye is slightly scraped and irritated. In order to view any foreign substances in the eye properly, the Dr had to put in a dye... hence the yellow stain below Todd's eye...
After the ER visit, he immediately went out and bought a face shield to wear for the remainder of the job! Good thinking honey!!
And after almost a year and a half of having no pets, I couldn't hold off any longer. As of Monday, we will have a new addition to our family....
Meet Teaca....
She's an adorable tabby cat that we're going to pick up in Lethbridge on Monday afternoon. She needed a new home because he owner had to move to Vancouver so she's going to come and stay with us!!! I am elated! I can't wait to meet her!!!

What the....
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight.
Walking in a winter wonderland.
If you hadn't have seen actual pictures... you just wouldn't believe me! YES... we have almost a FOOT of fresh snow! All of this white stuff fell from 3pm last night. We've been having it snow on and off for 2 days but this final snowfall actually stayed on the ground!
This is just naughty! It's May for crying out loud!!!

A Quick Review of the Last Few Months
I've been slacking on posting updates on the blog the last few months so I thought I would do a quick highlight post for everyone.
At the end of March we sold our beloved teardrop body that Todd had built the summer we met. It was sad to see the guys slide it off of the flatbed but at least it has a new home and hopefully someone will enjoy it as much as we have over the years. We keep the flat deck trailer for moving things since Todd had it specially designed for him out of Hamilton. Those kind of heavy duty trailers are hard to come by out here.
The weather out here has been wacky! One day we think summer's here and then the next day it snows!!! And not just a dusting... but a dumping!!! Here's Spencer out shoveling the deck one morning...
In early April, Spencer had a little bit of scare with a minor head injury and an over night stay in the hospital. He has had no last effects form his fall. He loved the bracelet that he had from his stay and still puts it on every once and awhile.
One bright and sunny day, we adventured off to Leunbreck Falls in the Pass. We've driven past this spot a million times going out to Pincher Creek or on our way to Calgary or Lethbridge but never managed to stop until that day.
We climbed down the staircase to the base of the double falls. It was so pretty!
Spencer is getting ready to graduate from pre-school and had a graduation photo day one Friday afternoon. I can't wait to see his photos with his little cap and gown on. I hope they turned out!
I put Spencer in a new pair of jeans one day to go to school. He came home wearing a string... to hold up his pants since he kept loosing them at school!!!!! Too funny!
Yup! Once again... another scar to add to his collection! Spencer was playing outside and not paying attention to his surroundings, tripped over a board and wacked his mouth. This was taken the day after his fall...
The wound on the inside has completed healed but he still has a scab just below his lower lip. Hopefully the scar won't be too big or permanent at all!
We had a phone call to help a friend out in the back country the other day so we went out to rescue him and had a nice drive after out towards Blue Lake. As you can tell, we still have quite a bit of snow here.
Today was Spencer's Spring Tea. I got to go enjoy the yummy crackers, cheese, salami, apples and treats for his tea. Here's Spencer enjoying his hand decorated cupcake...
Overall we've had a great few months. Todd managed to buy a Boler trailer after many years of searching (sorry no photos yet). We now have a mini trailer that sleeps 4, has a mini kitchenette and we can actually stand in and dine in. We can't wait to use it!
Today's weather... well... let's just say... we've seen it all! Rain... sleet... snow... cloud... sun! It's been like this for days! Please send us some actual Spring weather! No more snow please!!!
Spencer and I are excited to be coming home for a visit in only a few weeks. It will good to see our families and friends during that week (June 2-9).
Todd has booked off some vacation time in early August so we're planning to go to Victoria Island and see that side of the province. The weather should be amazing then and the camping is going to be fabulous in the new trailer. Can't wait!
Our trip is all booked to come home in September for Christie and Mark's wedding as well! We're booked to come home the 14th until the 22nd of September. We can't wait to see all of our extended family!
